January 2025 Update


I'm not dead, and neither is this project!

Development has been very slow the last few months as things like "life" and "work" get in the way. This doesn't mean Ecliptic has been completely stalled, I've been making slow progress over the months. As usual, the hard part for me is drawing graphics so when I get to a point of needing new graphics, more often than not, I end up procrastinating instead of firing up GrafX2. Since my last update I've fixed a heap of bugs, made some improvements to the controls and even added some new features.

I have largely completed the second level - I think there's a couple more bugs to work out, some graphics to improve, and I probably need to try to balance the difficulty a little more. 

For the third level, I'm planning some puzzles around environmental hazards that not all the robots can cope with, like radiation leaks. So far, I haven't written much of this.

I have, however, made some good progress on the fourth level which, like the second will be more combat than puzzle focused, and will feature more references to old sci-fi movies.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get a release out some time in February. Maybe even February this year!

Even in the future nothing works!
